Chestnut and edible chestnut are both the fruits of the chestnut tree. The difference between the two is in the bug (name of the spiny shell). If it contains fruits partitioned by a brownish skin (the «tan»), they are chestnuts. If the bug contains the fruits of a single block: they are chestnuts!
